According to the Michigan Lottery’s 2015 Annual Report, the Lottery generated total revenues of nearly $2.8 Billion in 2015, an increase of 6.8% over the $2.63 Billion revenue reported in 2014. The increase was partially driven by an 11% increase in instant game ticket sales from 2014 to 2015, attributed to the new “multiplier” instant games launched in 2015 and two new $30 instant ticket games. Club Keno, Lucky for Life, and Powerball sales also increased in fiscal year 2015 compared to previous years.

2015 also marked the first full-year reporting period for iLottery games, which were launched in August of 2014, and include a variety of multiple price point instant, keno, multi-ticket, extended and single card games that can be played over the Internet on computers, mobile phones, and tablets. The iLottery program saw a total of $146.2 Million in 2015 sales, generating a net win for the state of $18.5 Million.

Lottery revenues contributed $795.5 Million to the State School Aid Fund, the largest contribution to the fund in history. Revenues from the Lottery are dedicated to the School Aid Fund which provides funds for K-12 education in the state. The Lottery also continued its Michigan Excellence in Education Award Program, which began in September 2014 and provides weekly awards to Michigan teachers with a $500 cash prize and a $500 grant to their school, in addition to a yearly $10,000 prize chosen from among the weekly winners.

According to the report, the Lottery plans to introduce 25 new games in 2016, including draw based and iLottery products.
